ABOUT THE CENTER

The Center is a skilled nursing and subacute facility for children and adolescents with multiple medical, physical, and developmental delays. This center is the sole skilled nursing facility in California exclusively dedicated to children and one of only two on the West Coast providing long-term care for the most medically fragile and profoundly disabled children.

A comprehensive team comprising of a program director, physicians, licensed nurses, occupational, physical, and recreational therapist, a dietitian, a social worker, and certified nursing assistants are essential to support the needs of these children. But it’s not just the professionals who make a difference. The Bernardy Center provides caregiver training and education for each family member enabling them to actively participate in their child’s daily care needs and facilitating outings in the community or overnight stays at home on special occasions.
